Welcome to my Vlog!
In recent months, I’ve found myself craving a different creative outlet, and so I’ve decided to branch out with a new medium – videography. This is something brand new to me, so I hope that the quality of these vlog posts will improve over time. My first movies were shot exclusively with my cell phone and edited with inexpensive software. But even on this level, there’s something about capturing the subtleties of movement and enhancing the images with music that I find completely magical.
This new venture triggered my desire to relaunch my website with the goal of documenting and sharing aspects of both my personal and professional life, and I'm happy you've stopped by to enjoy the ride!
The Corn Maze at Heritage Farms in DeLand
For the past few years, our family has made a tradition of celebrating the start of October by visiting a corn maze. We usually drive down to Long and Scott Farms down in Zellwood, but we
Weeki Wachee Springs
Ever since Katie's first year of preschool, we've made a tradition of celebrating the end of summer with a special family outing. This year, Katie begged us to drive out to Weeki Wachee to see
Girls Weekend at Epcot
I have been blessed with a tight knit group of fun loving-friends, and for the past seven years we've planned a girl's weekend as summer draws to a close. School vacations can be a challenge when you're
July 4th Weekend
The 4th of July fell on a three day weekend this year, which I loved because it meant three full days of celebrating instead of trying to crowd everything into one. We decorated a wagon
A Visit to the Orlando Science Center
Several times a year, my parents like to collect all the grandkids and take them for a few days of organized fun. During this most recent reunion, I was excited to crash their visit to the Orlando
A Week of Celebrations
These past few days have been filled with roller coasters, of both the literal and emotional variety. My babies are growing up, and as such, we spend much of this time of year celebrating the
Wandering the Wizarding World
Ever since Katie read the Harry Potter series last year, she has been BEGGING us to take her to the Wizarding World at nearby Universal Studios. So you could imagine her excitement when, on
Girl’s Night Out
If there's one thing my girlfriends love, it's an excuse to dress up. So the stars aligned when the DeLand Junior Service League threw a 1940's themed Pinups and Patriots event on the same week
Our Williamsburg Vacation
It had been more than 3 years since we last took off on a real vacation. Between my bedrest pregnancy with Grayson, juggling life with a new baby, then saving up for and purchasing
Saturday
Our weekends get crazy busy these days, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. This Saturday we stopped downtown for some breakfast before we met Josh out at Lake Beresford for DeLand's annual "Anything That
Disappearing Island
Just off the coast of Ponce Inlet, Florida, lies is a small island that comes and goes with the tide. It is a Mecca for local boaters who come to relax and play every weekend. We hitched
Grayson Chat
I know he won't stay little forever, but at least I can freeze this video in time.
Josh’s Birthday
It was Josh's birthday, so we made a cake. And then we ate the cake. And then we ate another cake.
DeLand Bike Rally 2016
Each year, Downtown DeLand welcomes thousands of bikers who roll into town from nearby Daytona's Bike Week. And I rarely turn down an opportunity to put a doo rag on a toddler and parade him downtown.
Hontoon Island
Where DeLand meets the St. John River lies Hontoon Island State Park. Accessible by a courtesy ferry, the park is a wonderful (and free!) way to spend a morning communing with nature.
